1990 Upper Deck

This is a really good looking set. Busted two boxes recently and it was a lot of fun, a great trip down memory lane. Lacks the wow factor of 1989 (Griffey, Randy RCs are legendary cards) but much better than 1991 and 1992 Upper Deck
New member. This is the first set I have opened back in 1990. A friend introduced me into the hobby. Found it to be a great stress reliever. We would usually take off during lunch to go to the local shop "Cat's Pause" in Lexington, KY.
Yup, it’s iconic. Overproduced of course, but in so many ways Upper Deck was setting the precedent on what cards would become. The stock paper count and photography as well as how the set celebrated certain awards and rookies a way most card companies were not. Even the smell of the cards were different from any other kind. Fleer was trying but UD took the helm and became the leader in the industry (and helped force Topps into a new way of doing things). So, for that I gave it a 7.5. Truthfully, it would maybe get a 6 without some key cards, and the design, as well as the history it holds in card collecting ( along with the ‘89 set as well of course ).
Ahh the memories. This was my first set, ordered from the JC Penny Christmas catalog. Good times.
Wondering if someone could direct me to the listing of the Jumbos for the Reggie Baseball Heroes? I know that some places have these listed as 1993 Reggie Jumbos.

How is this set any different from Ugly Duck's previous or following releases? |
