Trivia

  • The complete 1992-93 Upper Deck Hockey set is divided between two series. The first (Wayne Gretzky box) has 400 cards while the remaining 240 are in the High Series (Gordie Howe box).
  • The insert Euro Star were found only in jumbo packs.
  • A standard pack contains 15 cards.
  • Jumbo packs contains 23 cards.
  • Upper Deck did not have an action shot for Eric Lindros (card 88), so they used a shot of Rod Brind'Amour and replaced Brind'Amour's face with Lindro's face.

If you look closely, the "logo only" holograms have a "19" & "92" on either side of the diamond logo, while the "logo with text" variant has a "19" & "93" on the diamond logo.

The Upper Deck "Logo" hologram was used on the backs of cards 1-440, as well as inserts, issued in Low (1st) Series packs. An Upper Deck "Small UD Text and Logo" hologram" was used on the backs of all cards issued in packs of the (2nd) "High" Series. These packs included cards 441-600, as well as cards 1-440. As a result, cards 1-440 can be found with either an "UD Logo" or "Small UD Text and Logo" hologram.

I take back my earlier comment about this set having a "text" set. after time of sorting these cards the holograms are both text and logo depending on the tilt of the card. so I looked back at the 91-92 set and found a few that looked to be both but the text part was more dominate. there is a possibility of the 91-92 set being a attempt at both but failing one way or the other. let me know what you think
