I agree, Dan Devil. But sometimes it all depends on how you define "from a single set" or "another set." The gold parallels I'm referring to for my issue, were issued in packs along with all the other cards, same numbers, same company, just had gold letters. My naive self thought they were all one set. Why wouldn't they be? My less naive self isn't totally convinced that I was wrong back then.
OPC and Topps sets, though? THOSE are totally different.

I mix in © 1990 LEAF, INC and © 1990 LEAF, INC. with no care at all that the two exist and differ.
That's right.

My hobby OCD wouldn’t allow it haha
i need to just build every set the way they need to be built. Not saying the idea of mixing is wrong but for my own sets it’s gotta be done that way

Nope, no way. I wouldn't feel like I really had a set. Although the Leaf thing with the period and without might not bother me. Nah, I'm too OCD even for that. But hey, to each his own...nobody collects "wrong". Except that guy that says 'PACKERSSUCK' or whatever it is. That's just plain blasphemy!! đ

I have to disagree Dan, if someone has built the collection they intended to, then they have a complete set of the cards they want.

So if I have the 1978 Topps Mick Kelleher card, you're saying I have the complete 1978 Topps Mick Kelleher set?
OK then....

And that's why they are VARs and not a different set.

I would do it temporarily, but wouldn't put the set to bed until it was homogenous.
