Would you ever combine cards just to make a set?

Waiting for a few more replies to determine what to do. Don't think a 1970 Topps and OPC combine would be too bad, back color is the only difference. My thinking is older vintage and rarer are doable...see below.

Meanwhile, this rainbow set idea of paralells is an interesting idea.

Guess, to each their own....because of abundance, I would never combine INC or INC., ** and *, and 1988 Donruss with my 20 monster boxes....Anybody want some. lol.

Just have to justify it to yourself.

Let's put it this way...are you selling it? Because if you're selling it as a complete set, and it's a mix of two or more sets, then it's false advertising and should lead to a negative feedback or at least a partial refund. I don't know for sure, but if you do it knowingly and don't say so, it may even be mail fraud...a federal crime. It's something you want to research if selling it is the intention.

If it's just for yourself, that the ONLY thing that matters is if you care or not.

If one has a card (or multiple cards) from another set (or multiple sets) in with a bunch of cards from a single set (but is missing the corresponding cards), one does not have a complete set of anything.

NOOOoooo! Way! Do people still use the phrase, Frankenstein? That would be a Frankenstein set. As I've always said. "You do it right or go home." ------------------------------- What is that behind you!?! Oh, It's me! Looking at the cards you have, That I want. :)
