So I bought a Jerry Rice card on eBay graded. It’s a rookie McDonald gold tab. However when I looked up the number on the slab. 0005965652 Beckett said it is for a green tab. thoughts? Mistake on Beckett end? I’m waiting for a reply from seller. 

What color does the slab say? My guess is Beckett goofed on their end, they might be able to fix it if you send them a scan.

You're the buyer so you have the upper hand on any eBay purchase..I stopped selling items on eBay (no trading cards) because they rendered the seller virtually powerless in any disputes and always sided with the buyer..

My WAG, Beckett graded it incorrectly as Green initially, it was sent back to correct the flip/label to Gold and they didn't update their database to reflect it.

Yeah a lot of people are thinking it’s an issue with Beckett and not the seller. I’m going to try to reach out to Beckett to see if I can get the system updated. 

“Scammed” seems strong. I suspect it was an error on the seller’s part for not looking closely, an error on the grader’s part for not looking closely, and the smallest error on your part for not checking the serial number first (something I never would’ve checked).  If you feel like you don’t want the card, the other poster is right, eBay will likely side with you (as it should if you didn’t get what you thought you were getting) and refund your money. But the other other poster is also probably right in saying that you might be able to get it regraded for free.

Yeah I was just wasn’t sure, my first graded card. 

The seller said he has had this trouble before. 

I’m going to reach out to Beckett. 

I wanted to look it up but he had multiple ones so I couldn’t use the photo on the page. He had like 3 for sale. Next I’ll request the number before purchase. 

I think the card is good, and the grade is good just a mess up  but need to make sure.   a learning lesson for sure
