Has anyone kept a list of sets where a parallel or variations set has been created recently for factory sets, hologram differences or other situations?  I apparently sent someone the wrong hockey cards due to some hologram difference that I don’t think I was aware of. 

Is there a way that we could get a message added to trade offers where a note has been created for these types of sets?

That'd be helpful, but probably only done as a personal list. 

I always check the set overview and forums for that type of info. What happened with you is a reminder to me to check and recheck Upper Deck cards

There does seem to be an uptick in "new" sets due to the aforementioned and not just UD but also Topps, Donruss, and likely others I've forgot or not aware of yet either.

I'm having the same problem with the 91 Donruss, every card is listed VAR There is nothing showing what card is a factory card on the listing. You only see it on the cards page when you go to it. So to make sure every card on a trade is right, we now have to go to the cards page and read what it says there. Sending the wrong version is going to be a thing now. If You don't look at every cards page to see what the VAR is. 

Or just check Trivia: Cards from the factory set had a different stripe pattern on each card, and are listed as variation (c) within the base set.

That is the problem. they are a factory set, not a version.

The moment the seal comes off the factory set, they're a variation.
