I'm primarily talking about '70s Topps and OPC. However there are other cards that can be combined like parallels. What do you think?

Just resorting my 1971s, I could just about have a set if the Topps and OPC were combined. Major difference is color of the backs, OPC-yellow, Topps-green. Funny, I made a trade years ago, bringing in 100s of '71s. Problem is my trader didn't distinguish between each and I ended up with a mix.

Nope. I'm too particular about my cards to have mixed sets like that. It'd bug me knowing they weren't all the same set! :-)

I do it with my team sets when certain players were only available in the OPC release.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I've met some people over the years who collected like that. They just wanted one of each card number, not caring about what base or parallel version each card was.
I've done it myself on a few insert sets that I found interesting enough to collect; not interested enough to build a 'master set' but I did want each parallel version represented.

I admit to doing it. I'm a parallel set builder, and I don't care which parallel when there are multiples.
