For the TCDB braintrust.
I've noticed some members collect sets, ...as long as they have A CARD they are ok with it.
ex. 1995 UD Football .... let's say you are happy with any of the 300 cards whether it be base, electric silver or electric gold....as long as you have 1 of each.
Can you dropdown a list that shows ALL the parallels in 1 view?

I don't think that's possible Bob. You mean see a gallery of all cards from the entire 1995 UD product, combining base and parallels, right? Just making sure I understand.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I have no idea what you're asking about.

Dan, switzr got it.
I want to see all 300 cards whether they are electric silver, gold or just base cards. So if I were a collector, collecting this set and I just wanted any card that matches, say Barry Sanders, electric silver, I'm good.
So to me my set is complete, even if it's a mix of paralells, so longs as I have the 300 cards. But I want to see that in 1 dropdown, not each parallel that I would need to switch back and forth.

Bob, I think for you to "do that" as you ask, you would falsely have to enter cards into the one set (base or parallel) whether you have the base card or the parallel. You cannot see parallels in the base nor base in the parallels. You can only see the cards that are in the set you are on.

Bruno, You know, I thought of that, but didn't know if that was "legal" ? I'm trying to "lead the clean life" on site this year. lol. I guess I could try that, with a note to myself.
BTW, thank you, your organizing tips have been invaluable to me. I'm not sure how many members have 4 rooms of cards, but your suggestions have certainly helped me. The multi-collection format really seems intriging but not sure I'm ready for that, need to get my plan completely installed. I'm glad were not arguing about jello molds and coasters....lmao

No problem Bob. As collectors, we have all been where we don't know where what we have is. I was there for several years and the frustration would get to me. So, organization was key. Yes having lots of space, whether it be in several rooms or one room, is helpful. But even in one room, separation of collections is key to staying organized, both physically and digitally. The added features on this site is making it easier all the time.

It won't be long before you're starting over from scratch in your organizational efforts if you are purposely listing parallels as base cards and vice versa in your collection.
Just my two cents.

The onslaught of newly "discovered" ridiculous parallel backs has caused problems for simple set/team collectors. I personally don't give a crap about light/dark, glow/non-glow, one/two asterisk, line/no-line, ©/no-©, Upper Deck holofoils, etc, etc, etc. I just want specific card numbers, regardless of minutiae "variations/parallels". The only way to see my set/team collection/wants in one place is to ignore the stupid back parallels and mark them in the base set.
This problem reared its ugly head recently when I received some cards. When I went to add them to my Collection, there were no cards on my Wantlist. I thought "WTF"? Then I looked at parallels. And there's where I discovered my Wantlist, even though I don't collect parallels. Apparently, a new "light back" parallel was created any my Wantlist was moved to the parallel.
I think Bob's point is a way to view a set (or Collection/Wants) by CardNum with all its parallels. Perhaps, in the base set in the dropdown menu for each card, add the parallels. Maybe choosing the parallel in the dropdown menu would add that information to the Card Details. And a "Parallels" field could be added to Card Details.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Yes that's it, do I have a FULL SET regardless of parallels etc? Just by looking at 1 dropdown, that way i'm not flipping back and forth. Many collectors don't give a "hoot" as long as they have 1 CARD of each player in the set and an easy way of viewing it.
