Seek help. I have four Topps cards of 60s and 70s with a small silver logo "Topps 75" on the front. does anyone know when these came out? I couldnot find them in any of the player databases.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

C2 - That's the card and the logo I am describing but I can't find any of the cards in the checklist nor in the player database. Am I missing something?

Is it possible that the checklist on teh database is incomplete? I checked again and I have four cards that are not in it, all with the logo. A 1967, 68, 74 and the Baylor 1976.

Topps has done this before. Any original card from their archives can be foil stamped (defaced in my opinion) and inserted as a Buyback. We're talking their complete archive of baseball cards. A potential for tens of thousands of inserts. Comc.com alone lists over 1,300 cards. Unless Topps knows and will admit to specific cards, trying to make a complete checklist of these cards seems pointless to me. Since, in theory, EVERY Topps baseball card ever printed should be checklisted.

another question about the same series (and other similar buybacks)...what price premium over the original is correct (if any).
I have not really bought any of these, but traded for a few here and there..
never seen them in the beckett magazines unless I am looking in wrong place
thanks, mark

IMO, absolutely none. It detracts from its value. I'd rather have the original, unaltered card.

I am in agreement with C2Cigars on this one (that it detracts from the card). I did pull a Phillie in one box opening, so it's in my Phillies binder with the set it was packaged in this time around, but otherwise, I sell them (or trade them, if I could find someone who wants them). Usually, if they sell, they sell for about what the book value of the original is (which, in my world, is a "mark-up" since most cards can be gotten for 25%-60% of the book value).

-- Dan -- Note: Please see my profile for more info regarding trading (section updated 3/4/2024). I have added a large portion of my inventory to the site, and currently have trading turned on (details are in my profile).

The only buybacks I like, and feel should be done, are the buyback autos.
