Very colorful set and a nice follow up to the 1989 set. Unfortunately it was overproduced which qualified it as "junk".
This set is special to me cause it was a tradition that me and my papaw did every weekend just us two
1990 Score came on the heels of their "scarce" set in 1989, and the design of the card didn't disappoint. Featuring several subsets, Hot Gun, Ground Force, Rocket Man and Crunch Time, as well as all the All Pro cards, this set is full of rookies, and the Junior Seau card is a special card for this collector. I just recently bought Series I and II boxes for less than $5 and I had forgot how much fun I had when this set came out in '90. 660 cards is a lot by today's standards and it was refreshing seeing the OL and second and third round draft choices in the set. Overall, a huge print run, but a nice, clean set to collect.
This was the first football set I collected. I hand collated Series II over the course of several months from packs I bought at Toys 'R Us and Wal-Mart. Then I bought the factory set at Wal-Mart - the first factory set I ever bought. Then, about a year after that, I bought ANOTHER factory set because I saw it for cheap at a card show. I figured I would keep it sealed then sell it 25 years later and be rich off of it. That was my master plan. I still have it, sealed, and it's still worth about the same it was back then. |
