Strangely, Blair Barnes & Igor Vyazmikin both played less than 5 games and both passed away in their 40's.

He's been my favorite player since before I could play T-ball. Still can't forget that slide into the dugout, wish he'd have made the catch.

Finally managed to get a Topps card for every year Jimmy played. In case you haven't noticed yet, I really like this guy. The Writer's Association will be doing Baseball a major disservice if Thome doesn't get into Cooperstown on his first ballot appearance.

During 2014, I have decided to get one big ticket - for me that's spending $25 on a single card - card each month. I will be tracking them here, just for fun.

Random thoughts about cards I remember from my earlier days of collecting.

A collection of various Jim Thome cards from every season of his initial stint with the Cleveland Indians (1991-2002). I'm working on a set of every year he played (1991-2012), but I'm missing a few towards the end, so I'll start with this. Thome is easily my favorite player ever, and in my humble opinion should be a first ballot Hall of Famer when 2018 rolls around. The man hit 612 home runs and was a dynamite first baseman (before recurring back injuries forced him to DH status). When Jim played baseball, he did it with kindness, humility, and passion; and he did it WITHOUT peds.

Congratulations to the new hall of famers. You will now be remembered as one of the greatest of all time.

Since I was finally able to finish my set of NBA Top 50 Jersey and/or Auto set, I thought I would get a head start on who the NBA Top 75 will be. The NBA announced the Top 50 list on the league's 50th anniversary in 1996, so the Top 75 should be announced around 2020-2021. Here are the guys I think should make the team, and why. Please note I won't have a complete list, until I have an actual card in hand. Some should be no-brainers (I'm looking at you, Kobe and LeBron!), there will be some older guys who didn't quite make the cut in 1996, and there will be some younger guys that are showing promise.
