Set: 2009 Rittenhouse Stargate Heroes - Stargate Atlantis Autographs (Rate)

Card: #BN Bill Nye

“ Does the good penmanship surprise people? Nice looking card. ” -ShoTime

“ "The Science Guy" nice on card auto , Topps and Panini are you paying attention here ? Not a sticker ! ” -baseballcardstoreca

“ Bill Nye! I want it! ” -Lennoxmatt

“ His TV show is 25 years old....and I still use episodes of it while teaching today! ” -rmpaq5

“ Met Bill at my cousins wedding. A real cool guy and down to earth. My wife was so starstruck meeting him because she is a science teacher. ” -carthage44

“ Wow. Might be my favorite non sports card yet on RCOTD. Can't go wrong with Bill Nye. ” -davidhandberry

“ I only dock this card for not saying Bill Nye the Science Guy on the back. ” -vanstryland

“ BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY!!! ” -Jd_sports

“ Nice Bill Nye Science Guy. Hmm I forgot he had been on Stargate Atlantis... I didn't see as many of those episodes as I thought I did I guess. ” -captkirk42

“ Neat ” -parsley24

Set: 2019 Topps - 150 Years of Professional Baseball - Greatest Players (Rate)

Card: #GP-40 Phil Niekro

“ I am biased I know, Phil is one of the best Braves players ever and so I obviously love this card. Objectively it is a pretty basic looking card for an insert but it's Phil Niekro and therefore it is great to me. ” -davidhandberry

“ Nice. Uni looks awesome. Love the stadium shot in the background and the blue sky. ” -chvlDm

“ Love these sets with players from the past however they can lead to some heavy debate on who should be in or out , no Mantle no Ruth.Nice set , didn't need the other color variations which is overused in most Topps sets. ” -baseballcardstoreca

“ Nice card, but why does there have to be so many inserts these days? ” -jayoneill

“ Not a fan of this insert set that Topps came up with even though it has many super HOF stars in it. That is a very cool photo of Phil Niekro. ” -captkirk42

Set: 2003-04 SP Authentic (Rate)

Card: #143 Alex Garcia

“ I like the cohesiveness between the front and back but besides that just a very average looking card. Needs something to make it pop. Reminds me of an old black and white tv on the fritz. Also, why on the back do the black lines makes a coffin shape? ” -davidhandberry

“ Rare player. Very expensive set due to people chasing LeBron autograph rookie. Not a huge fan of SPA but for a rookie photo shoot image, as this is, the "player cutout over nothing" works. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ SN is col. Card is a big meh. ” -muskie027

Set: 1986 O-Pee-Chee (Rate)

Card: #123 Greg Walker

“ This is about when I started collecting, I remember having a few of the Topps set, but 87 is when I really started collecting. It has held up pretty well, in my opinion. Wish there was a little less white on the border but at least they broke it up with the large team name on the top. The back is great. I liked the OPC brand, but wish they did more to change the cards so you can tell more easily if it's Topps or OPC. ” -davidhandberry

“ All I can really say about this Card of the Day is how OFF the scans are in angles. The front scan is expected with the off-centering, spotting and the chipping in the black of the border. But the back is totally crooked. I hated (and still hate) the 1986 Topps/OPC fronts. The backs weren't bad, but also completely bland and standard. It's really too bad that the standard back then doesn't really exist today. I'd prefer the 1986 back to the crap that passes for a back in the 2010 decade of MLB cards. ” -spazmatastic

“ Classic number on the pants....as much as I still dislike it, as a nostalgia guy, I respect it. I remember getting the random OPC card in value packs of cards in the early 90s. In fact, a Greg Walker is just the type of card you would get. Not a big fan of 1986 Topps/OPC, but the backs are decent enough for the time period. ” -tbshaw

“ Very tough issue to find in near mint to mint , OPC cards were too often miscut/off-centered rather unfortunately as their production numbers are very pale in comparison to Topps ” -baseballcardstoreca

“ I wonder how he got credited for 163 games played when Chicago only played 162. I looked it up to make sure it wasn't a one game playoff with the Royals; nope, but his statline on the card doesn't appear to be an error. Anyone know the story? ” -Brimose

“ I used to think Opeechee was the canadian knockoff version of topps. Change my mind ” -parsley24

“ One of my fave 1980s OPC/Topps designs. Back in the day I opened a ton of the Topps version. Don't have many if any OPC versions. ” -captkirk42

“ Go Go White Sox! ” -carthage44

“ The Topps 86 set was the first I ever collected. Every time I see these cards, even though this is the O-Pee-Chee version, the design brings me back to being 8 years old. For me, this is a legendary set (the Topps version). ” -muskie027

Set: 1994 Panini Stickers (Rate)

Card: #33 John Valentin

“ This is a great design. I would like more like this from Panini. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ One of the nicer, and bigger sized Panini sticker offerings. Would be nice to see them return to this size rather than the smaller ones we have been offered all too frequently of late. ” -baseballcardstoreca

“ Not a bad classic basic look for a sticker. ” -parsley24

“ OH it's a sticker. At first glance I thought this was a minor league card of some kind. Looks good for a sticker. Personally I think Panini should still stick with making just stickers (pun may or may not be intended). ” -captkirk42

“ I HATE stickers . . . Therefore, I HATE this set. Making matters worse, many of the pictures in this set are not cropped very well. ” -georgecf

“ Simple Card. ” -kjv63078

“ Great front. Blah back. Then it being a sticker ruins it even more for me. I collect stickers as baseball cards but i try to keep them separate because I have had them stick to other cards before. ” -davidhandberry

Set: 1993 Pinnacle (Rate)

Card: #349 Eric Dickerson

“ Wait...Eric Dickerson played for the Raiders at one point? I have no memories of this and just minutes ago I finished watching the show "Timeless" on Netflix. Paranoia kicking in. ” -rmpaq5

“ I loved the '93 Pinnacle cards in MLB and NFL when they first came out. Great photography, nice design and tons of info on them. But they didn't hold up to time well. The black borders chip and fray easily. Nothing else bad to say about these cards. More stat-lines on the back would have been nice, but it would have taken away so much info from them. ” -spazmatastic

“ One of my favorite sets. A very simple design with great photography. The cards are stunning if the black borders are clean. Although the stats on back are lacking, the head shots are great. ” -Big Ray

“ Love this set in baseball. A bit annoyed now to see that they used the same layout for the football set as well. I think it is lazy to have the same exact layout across multiple sports. ” -davidhandberry

“ Great back, terrible sideline reporter. I heard a joke once that Dickerson never met a sideline he didn't like (a jab at his propensity to avoid taking hits) until he was assigned there as a reporter. ” -Brimose

“ Not bad for a pinnacle ” -parsley24

“ A great player, but I've never been a fan of Pinnacle. ” -Jd_sports

“ I took a 12 year hiatus from collecting, and it was this set that caused me to do it. I paid (at that time) a lot of money for a box, and it had none of the 'guaranteed' inserts or special cards...nothing but commons. I didn't like the changes in the hobby at the time, and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. Luckily I came back years later, but I still don't buy boxes unless it's a cheap blaster. ” -DocOso

“ Solid card. ” -cjjt

“ Man o Man Mr. Dickerson will ALWAYS be a RAM in my eyes. and this 1992, er 1993 Pinnacle card if I don't already have I should cause he is one of my PC HOF guys. BTW I have always had a love/hate about the black bordered 1992 and '93 Pinnacle sets. Backs put too much emphasis on the profile photo and limit stats to one year. ” -captkirk42

“ I did not remember that Dickerson ever played for the Raiders. Also played 4 games for the Falcons. ” -vanstryland

“ For some strange reason I liked these. ” -NJDevils

“ TIL Dickerson was on the Raiders. ” -royals

“ I forgot he played for Oakland. I like Pinnacle's initial year. Not this one so much. ” -muskie027

Set: 1989 Topps Batman - Collector's Edition (Tiffany) (Rate)

Card: #192 Friends and Lovers

“ First trading cards were this set and I'm betting I'm not alone. ” -ShoTime

“ This set...and movie...are not that great, but integral to my card collecting life. Some of my earliest memories are of these cards. I know I have more somewhere in my storage unit, but I fear for their condition. The factory set, which this came from and I uploaded, is not actually in my collection...these cards belong to my brother, who got me started in the hobby and read me my first comic book at only five days old...a hobby I've never left, and contribute a great deal of my lexicon, love for science and reading towards. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I remember the 1989 Batman set and getting packs of them back then. I don't remember there being a "Complete Collector's Edition" though. The photos were pretty good and the type on the back was as well. But that bright yellow border, yuck! Maybe that's where the 1991 Fleer design came from?! I've just got to say this... Keaton is still my favorite movie Batman. ” -spazmatastic

“ I like the front border but the photo looks washed out. The back is great. I am a big fan of Batman, especially Michael Keaton's so this card is a plus for me but still can't bring myself to collect non sports cards. ” -davidhandberry

“ The best Batman movie ever made. ” -Brimose

“ Topps movie cards from the '80s....it doesn't get much better! ” -mkaz80

Set: 2016 Panini Certified - Mirror Purple (Rate)

Card: #72 Harry Gant

“ Nice looking front. The Immortals title should have been darker so it doesn't fade out but besides that the front is good. The back is boring. The paragraph should have been bigger and longer, or some stats or something. The Certified logo shouldn't be so large. ” -davidhandberry

“ The purple parallel seems like a terrible color for this card. Also, the back is really boring. It could really use some stats or a picture of his full car...something. ” -vanstryland

“ At first glance I thought this was an older card until I saw the date, manufacturer and the obvious Certified brand logo ” -captkirk42

“ He was one of the most debonair drivers to ever step foot in a stock car...well-liked and respected by drivers and fans alike. I'm a bit surprised Panini didn't Photoshop the Skoal Bandit off of his helmet though. ” -DocOso

“ Nice photo. Good to see an in-car shot. ” -NJDevils

Set: 1997 Topps (Rate)

Card: #245 Sandy Alomar

“ Topps with a white border? Color me shocked. At least the back is pretty good but the front is as boring as most years of Topps. ” -davidhandberry

“ I usually prefer vertical cards to horizontal, but this one works great in horizontal form...would not worked as well vertical. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Love Sandy Alomar Jr. One of my favorite players. Should get a shot managing. ” -kirkscards

“ I am assuming this picture was taken in practice as their is no one from the opponents team on the field...lol ” -SandersFan

“ Had the name been horizontal this would have been an excellent card. ” -NJDevils

“ I don't mind the card completely...i just wish they would stop with the sideways pics. It's hard enough storing them in a binder, but when they flip and flop back and forth, it gets annoying. ” -FiresNBeers

“ Fine card. Good action shot. ” -cjjt

“ Ah late 1990s when Topps looks like Upper Deck. ” -captkirk42
