I am primarily a complete set builder, so I am happy to trade autograph, memorabilia, or insert cards for multiple base cards on my want list.
Basketball cards have always been my favorite, but I also collect Topps Flagship baseball, Goodwin Champions, Score football, Major League Soccer and the occasional WWE and non-sport set.
I also build binders of:
- Iowa Hawkeyes cards of any sport,
- Boston Celtics team sets,
- Minnesota Vikings team sets,
- Cleveland Guardians team sets,
- former Iowa Hawkeyes basketball players,
- former Iowa high school basketball prep stars,
- championship teams,
- All MLB teams,
- All NBA teams, and
- NBA 75th Anniversary team
PARALLELS: It's been tricky to figure out how parallel basketball cards fit within my collection. I've come up with the following (ever-changing) rules:
- Parallel cards don't go into my complete base & insert set binders or boxes.
- Decide whether to build a complete set of a particular parallel version.
- If #2 is "no" (which is typical), then place a parallel in one of the following collections:
- All-NBA team & NBA Finals binders
- Celtics team binders
- NBA 75th Anniversary Team & Next 25 binders
- Former Iowa Hawkeyes binders
- Former Iowa prep players binders
- Individual player collections
- If the parallel doesn't fit in #3 above, then sell or trade the card.
